How seats and automatic seating work
A guest with a plus-one takes two seats. Guests who can't come are left off; guests who haven't replied are included, so you are not caught short.
Seat everyone for me only places people who are not seated yet. It takes the largest groups first and puts each whole group at the table with the least room left that still fits it, so tables fill up rather than spreading thin. A group too big for any table fills the roomiest table first, then the next, so it splits across as few tables as possible. It never seats someone at a table with a person they are kept apart from. A table with “sweetheart” in its name is left for the two of you. Anyone it cannot place stays in the list for you.
A seating plan in the right order
Wait until most replies are in — a seating chart built around people who can't come is work done twice. Then seat the fixed points first: the two of you, parents and grandparents, anyone who needs easy access or to be near the door. After that, seat groups who know each other, and leave the table of people who don't know anyone for last, where you can mix them thoughtfully.
Put the groups on the guest list first. Seat everyone for me keeps each group at one table where it fits, which does most of the work in a single click; then move the few people who need a better spot.
How many seats per table?
A 60-inch (about 150 cm) round table seats eight comfortably and ten at a squeeze; a 72-inch (about 180 cm) round seats ten to twelve. A long 8-foot banquet table seats eight, or ten with someone at each end. Ask your venue what they have — and how many tables fit with a dance floor.

Can I drag guests between tables?
Yes, with a mouse. On a phone, or with a keyboard, pick a guest and then press Seat here on the table you want — it does the same thing.
Where do the two of us sit?
Many couples use a small sweetheart table. The Sweetheart and rounds layout adds one with two seats; add yourselves to the guest list if you want to place yourselves.
How do I print place cards?
Print the plan prints each table and who sits there — the list your venue or planner needs for escort cards.
