How the checklist is dated
Each task belongs to a stretch of time before the wedding — a year out, nine months, six, four, two, the last month, the last week, the day itself, and the fortnight after. Once you add a date, every task gets a due date at the start of its stretch.
Starting later than a year out is normal. Anything whose date has already passed shows under Catch up rather than being hidden, so nothing is quietly skipped — tick it off if it's done, or remove it if it doesn't apply to you.

How to use the planner
Start with the four decisions that shape everything else: the budget, a rough guest count, the date and the venue. Those are the first tasks on the list for a reason — every supplier's quote depends on them. After that, book the people who get booked up first: photographer, caterer, band or DJ.
Then work down the list a stretch at a time. The dashboard above shows how the rest of the plan is doing: how much of the budget is committed, how many guests have replied, how many are seated, and how long the day runs.
The other tools share this plan
The budget uses your guest list to work out the cost per guest. The seating chart seats the guests who have said yes or not yet replied. The day's timeline builds from your ceremony time. Change something in one and the others follow.

Questions people actually ask
Where is my plan saved?
In this browser, on this device, and nowhere else. There is no account and nothing is uploaded. Clearing your browser's data or switching device starts empty, so download a backup from time to time — the same file restores it anywhere.
Can we both work on it?
Not at the same time on two devices — there is no server to keep them in step. Pass the backup file between you, or plan together on one device.
We have less than a year. Is that too late?
No. Many weddings are planned in six months or less. The early tasks will show under Catch up; do the bookings first, since those are what get taken.
Can I remove tasks that don't apply?
Yes — remove any task with its × button, and bring removed tasks back at any time from the note under the list.
